Light & Wonder, Inc. Slot Games

Between 2018 and 2021 I worked at Red7 Games creating HTML5 based slot games for SG Digital (now Light & Wonder, Inc.). partners such as William Hill and Sky Vegas, and were a mixture of either commissioned branded games or original in-house productions that were then sold as products to interested partners.

Each project was developed between 2-4 people and built within a custom Pixi.js framework maintained and contributed to by the entire development team across Red7; the backend developers managed the logical elements of the game, and the frontend developers would create the visuals and interactive elements to the game, updating said visuals based on the gameplay processed by the backend. Whilst each project used the same slot framework, projects would have individual feature games or modify the base concept heavily which provided unique challenges for each project; for example Dr. Reactive’s “Candy Crush” gameplay required rewriting the majority of the base framework to change the reels to work like a match-3 game, and Monopoly Millionaire had a total of 6 individual sub-games the user could play within the game. Development would take anywhere between 1-4 months depending on the complexity of the game design.
